Gemini Reproductions - Digital Resizing service selected for "The Energy Walk 2005" Displays.

Oil Walk Unveiled

Industry representatives were on hand at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary Tuesday, June 28, 2005, for the unveiling of the Energy Walk, a series of interactive displays throughout the downtown core chronicling the history of the oil and natural gas industry in Alberta.

“This exhibit reinforces awareness of the events and advances in the energy sector that have shaped our province over its first 100 years,” Greg Melchin, Alberta’s energy minister said in prepared remarks prior to the unveiling.

“As the energy capital of Canada, we should show our pride for the benefits the oil and gas sector has brought to our community,” added Dave Bronconnier, Calgary’s mayor.

Each of the four displays uses a combination of graphics, photos, timeline associations and industry equipment to highlight a different period in Alberta’s energy history.

The Glenbow display depicts “A Century In Review” while similar displays in Fifth Avenue Place, Petro-Canada Centre and Banker’s Hall chronicle “The Early 1900s,” “Post War/Post Leduc,” and “The 1980s and Beyond.”

Energy Walk brochures, which contain a map of the locations, are available at participating Petro-Canada and Esso service stations as well as at each individual display.

The displays will be available for viewing until Oct. 8, 2005. More information can be found at: www.centreforenergy.com.

Example: You want your Digital Business Cards to contain a PDF file but the person viewing your Digital Business Card may not have Adobe Acrobat installed on their machine OR they may have an outdated version that won't display your files properly.
